The Institute addresses the needs of a diverse set of target groups organised in different kinds of public and private entities. The Institute and its Knowledge Innovation Communities gather among the widest range of innovation stakeholders in Europe. These include, among others, universities, professional higher education institutions, local and regional governments, governmental bodies, large businesses and SMEs, non-governmental organisations, research organisations and stakeholder groups. Furthermore, it is necessary to take on board also the opinions of those that are not directly involved in the Institute and the activities of the Knowledge Innovation Communities. The public consultation is therefore seeking also feedback outside the regular stakeholders, including the wider innovation and the knowledge triangle of research, education and business community as well as citizens. The Commission is interested in gathering the views of stakeholders and citizens on the challenges in the research and innovation landscape related to the operation of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (Institute) and possible objectives and options for its future strategic development.
